Hi there,

I think before you post comments regarding culling, as bad as it may be, that you should look at the bigger picture. I admire your sentiments regarding the elephants in Africa, but please, the current state of KNP (kruger national park) is deplorable because we just have to many elephants. The elephant population has exploded and is now threatening several other species. You don't have a species capable of inflicting the devastation a herd of elephants does on the environment in US (no offence meant).Elephants have the ability turn a forest into a desert, and it is happening to us. Nobody here wants the culling to take place and we have tried everything, even contraceptives, but we have no alternative at the moment.

Listen, it was our hard work in South Africa that saved the elephants from extinction and I would rather have the poor animals killed as humane as possible than "donating" them to some African reserve and hear how the entire herd was hunted/poached again with AK 47's. Also note: There are no more licenses being issued to bow hunt elephants in South Africa, it is in fact illegal here, but, in Zimbabwe and several of our neighbouring countries they will allow to hunt just about anything with a bow.

All of that being said, I am a bowhunter/rifle hunter myself and feel that if you are not going to eat it, don't kill it. No animal should lose it's life in vain.

Thank you for the concern.
